William A. Walfield Obituary

Peabody - William A. Walfield, 75, of Peabody, passed away after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Debra, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage. Bill was the proud father of three children: Neal and his wife Isabel of Germany, Rachel her husband Russell of Peabody, and Scott and his wife Kristen of North Carolina. He also leaves behind six cherished grandchildren, Victoria, Sophia, Noam, Ada, Emma and Nolan.

Bill was the son of the late Howard and Vera Walfield of Swampscott.

A 1969 graduate of Swampscott High School, Bill went on to serve in the National Guard from 1971 to 1977. He was deeply involved in his children's activities while they were growing up, coaching Little League and soccer, and serving as an assistant Scout leader for many years.

Bill worked at Star Market before beginning a long career with Stop & Shop, where he dedicated 28 years before retiring.

He enjoyed golf and was a devoted fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. Above all, Bill loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed walking, gardening, and relaxing at the beach with his beloved dog, Cosmo.

Services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson's Fitness, c/o Linda Hall, 46 Britannia Circle, Salem, MA 01970, a community where Bill found friendship and support.
