Wesley E. Carr Jr. Obituary

Marblehead - The family of Wesley E. Carr Jr. announces his passing on June 9, 2021, after a brief illness. Born in Lynn, MA, on November 10, 1932, he was the son of the late Wesley E Carr and Helen McGann Carr.

Wes graduated from Swampscott High School with the class of 1950, and he immediately joined the United States Coast Guard. From there he began his career with the Navy at Charlestown Navy Yard and later in Portsmouth New Hampshire as a specialist on weapons, especially torpedos. He was a longtime member of the Boston Yacht Club in Marblehead. He used his talents of extraordinary attention to detail and deep observation skills in painting scenes of the coast and the lure of Old Town Marblehead. He loved to both collect and cash in on things of the past and old memorabilia. Certainly a bit of history has passed with his death.

He was the husband of June Vittum Carr with whom he shared 68 years of marriage and the father of Wesley E Carr III and his wife Carol Amore of Ipswich and the late Catherine D. Carr. He was the grandfather of Sarah Carr of Beverly, Natasha Cappadona and husband Philip of Charlestown and Felicia Carr of Ipswich and great grandfather of Arlo Sophia of Charlestown.

Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to The Sarah E Carr Special Needs Trust Fund at TD BankNorth, 175 Cabot Street, Beverly.
