Warren George White Obituary

Danvers - Warren White of Danvers, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, just shy of his 93rd birthday surrounded by his family.

Born in Bellingham, MA, to Ralph and Rose White, Warren was raised in Winthrop, where he met the love of his life and future wife, Bette (Chambers) White. Their partnership would shape the course of his life.

Warren attended Amherst College, where he played football and wrestled and participated in ROTC. Following graduation, he proudly served his country as a fighter pilot in the United States Air Force for six years.

After completing his military service, Warren began what would become a long and distinguished entrepreneurial career. He initially worked as a salesman for Republic Steel Corporation before moving to Danvers in 1967 to open a new International House of Pancakes franchise in Peabody. Under his leadership, it became one of the top-grossing IHOP locations in the country for many years.

After selling the restaurant in 1980, Warren continued to pursue new ventures. He founded the Yankee Doodle Toy Company in Newburyport, a wooden toy manufacturing business, which he sold in 1982. That same year, he launched White Knight Carpet Cleaning, building a strong residential and commercial client base that included the iconic Hilltop Steak House. After selling that company in 1986, he became a real estate investor

before launching yet another business in 1989: Best Tire Repairs. As a sole proprietor, Warren supplied tire repair products to mechanics and auto garages from Boston to the New Hampshire border, continuing the business for 33 years until his retirement in 2022 at the age of 89.

Warren was a tireless worker and not one to take many vacations. On the rare occasions he stepped away, he enjoyed time at his condo in Deer Cove on Lake Ossipee, New Hampshire. He loved poker and spent many years playing at the Peabody Elks Club and the Polish Club in Danvers. In the 1970s, he embraced life on the water, purchasing a lobster boat and catching lobsters as a hobby. The ocean always called to him; during his daily travels along the North Shore, he often paused in Salem, Beverly, or Danvers to park by the shoreline and quietly watch the boats and the tide.

Warren spent his final years at BrightView Senior Living in Danvers.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Bette White; his son, Jim White; his brother, Carroll White; and his sister, Hazel (White) DeCaro.

He is survived by his daughter, Sue (White) Farrell of Middleton, and her husband, Mike Farrell; his cherished grandchildren, Lindsey, Tori, and Jimmy Farrell; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will not be holding formal services.
