Lynn - Lynn - Walter V. Proodian Jr., 94, a lifelong resident of Lynn, peacefully passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 20, 1931, he was the son of the late Walter V. Proodian Sr. and Nora (Minasian) Proodian, and the beloved husband of the late Barbara (Patten) Proodian.

Born and raised in Lynn, Walter attended Lynn English and proudly served in the United States Army, with deployment in Germany. From a young age, Walter demonstrated an entrepreneurial spirit, founding a successful rug business that laid the foundation for his lifelong work ethic. His craftsmanship and eye for detail quickly became trademarks of his work. Walter was one of a kind and believed that nothing was done right unless he had a hand in it. Deeply rooted in his hometown, Walter was actively involved with Pine Grove Cemetery for 48 years where he served as commissioner. He was also Chairman of the Lynn Water and Sewer Department for over 18 years. Walter was an honorary member of the MA Police Chief Association, and his skills spanned countless trades: mechanical, electrical, and everything in between.

Walter will be dearly missed and is survived by his loving sons, Walter V. Proodian III and his wife Geraldine of Lynn, and Wayne Proodian of Peabody; grandchildren, Angela Proodian, Matthew Proodian, Pamela McIntyre, Jeffrey Proodian, Rachel Ramirez, and is pre-deceased by his beloved granddaughter, Gina Proodian-Lucas and dear friend Aline Ogden. He is also survived by his 11 great-grandchildren and numerous friends. Along with his parents, Walter is also predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years, Barbara (Patten) Proodian.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rt. 129) Lynn. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 9:00 AM at Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rt. 129) Lynn. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
