Virginia R. Pelletier Obituary

Peabody - Virginia Pelletier, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, teacher and friend, passed away peacefully on February 19 at the age of 80. She was predeceased by her parents, Aime and Priscilla Pelletier, and her brother, Edmound Pelletier.

Ginny, as she was known to friends and family, was born in Salem and developed a passion for education early in life, earning a degree from Salem State College. She devoted decades to nurturing young minds as an elementary school teacher in Beverly Public Schools. After her retirement, she continued her dedication to education as a substitute teacher in Peabody Public Schools.

Beyond the classroom, Ginny was a faithful servant of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Peabody, and later All Saints Episcopal Church in Danvers. She was a devoted member of the choir, lifting her voice in worship for many years, and an active participant in the prayer shawl ministry, where her skilled hands and compassionate heart brought comfort to many. She was also a treasured member of the church sewing group, sharing not only her talent but also her steady friendship and gentle humor.

An avid knitter and seamstress, Ginny expressed her love through every stitch. She lovingly created clothing, quilts, and handmade gifts for friends and relatives, each piece crafted with care and intention. Her quilts, in particular, will remain cherished heirlooms—tangible reminders of her warmth and generosity. Her home was always shared with beloved dogs and cats, reflecting her lifelong love of animals and the companionship they brought her.

Ginny never married, but her life was rich with meaningful relationships and deep connections within her family and church community. A near lifelong resident of Peabody, in her later years, she received loving care at the Sutton Home for Women and more recently, Sunrise of Lynnfield.

Ginny will be remembered for her steadfast faith, her kindness, her creative spirit, and the many lives she touched through simple, faithful acts of love. Her memory will live on in the students she inspired, the shawls that warm shoulders, the quilts that grace beds, and the hymns that echo in the choir loft.

A service celebrating Ginny's life will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church, 13 Holten St., Danvers, on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MSPCA at Northeast Animal Shelter. Arrangements by the Conway Cahill Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody.
