Salem - Susan (Barry) LeBlanc "Sue", 76, of Salem, Massachusetts passed on January 10th, 2026 at Lahey Medical Center in Burlington, due to complications following cancer treatment.
Susan was welcomed by Daniel and Anna Barry on July 6th 1949 in Waltham, Massachusetts. The family soon moved to Peabody, Massachusetts where Susan attended Centre Elementary School and graduated from Peabody high School in 1967. Susan married James Edward LeBlanc in December 1967 and moved to Salem. They soon welcomed a son, James Edward the Second & a daughter, Jennifer Ann. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. As well as a good friend who was always there for those she cared for.
Her happy place was "up the camp", the family's cabin in Maine, where she enjoyed outdoor life & entertaining guests. When home, she enjoyed hosting holidays & family gatherings. She was well known at the Beverly YMCA. Susan was perhaps most well-known for walking her beagles, Ebonie & Colby, in Greenlawn Cemetery faithfully twice a day, rain or shine.
Susan is survived by her husband James E. LeBlanc of Salem MA, daughter Jennifer Holloran of Byfield, MA, granddaughter Erin Holloran of Amesbury, MA, grandson Colton Holloran, Amesbury MA, stepdaughter Melissa Espinoza, and her sons David, Hunter, & Logan of East Haddam CT. She also leaves her siblings Gail Hydrick of North Augusta, SC, Jean Smith of Hamden, CT, John Barry of Epping, NH, Michael Barry of Northwood, NH, Sally Gagnon of Epping, NH, Sandra Morrissey, Beverly, MA, as well as a large extended family and many dear friends and her pets Colby & Ebonie LeBlanc. She is predeceased by her son, James E. LeBlanc II, her brother Daniel Barry, and Mary Anne Strewart.
Services for Susan will include a visitation on January 20, 2026, from 9-11am at Murphy Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 11am. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to be made in Susan's name to Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem, MA.
