Shirley A. Flynn Obituary
South Hamilton - Shirley A. Flynn, a loving and kind soul, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026. She was the daughter of the late John and Helen (MacDonald) Luxton.
Shirley was a proud graduate of Beverly High School, class of 1956. Following her graduation, she embarked on a fulfilling career in healthcare. She began her journey as a nurse's aide at Beverly Hospital, where she dedicated herself to the care and well-being of her patients. Her compassion and dedication led her to continue her career as a private duty, in-home care aide. For 40 years, Shirley provided comfort and care to those in need, until her well-deserved retirement.
In 1957, Shirley married her high school sweetheart, Richard F. Flynn. Their love story was one for the ages, filled with mutual respect and shared laughter. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Kim F. Booth and Richard F. Flynn, Jr. Shirley's love for her family was immeasurable, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Shirley is survived by two brothers, Donald Luxton of Wenham MA and Thomas Luxton of Seabrook, NH. Shirley was a proud grandmother to Bradley Booth and Zachary Booth and a doting great-grandmother to Liam Booth and Camille Booth. Her love and legacy will continue to live on through them.
An avid reader, Shirley could often be found with a book in her hand. Shirley held fond memories of camping trips with her children when they were young. These shared experiences brought her immense joy and left her family with cherished memories.
Shirley's life was a beautiful example of love and kindness. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved.
