Russell Marron

Peabody - Russell N. Marron, 83 of Peabody passed away peacefully on Friday, August 22, 2025, following a debilitating battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was the loving husband of the late Patricia A. Morin and (Loyte) with whom he shared 45 years of marriage until her passing in 2017. Russ was born in Salem, raised in Lynn and Peabody where he attended the Brown and Farnsworth Elementary Schools and then graduated from Peabody High School (Seeglitz) in 1961. After graduating, Russ served two years in the United States Navy. He became a Real Estate Broker and a Notary Public. He then went to work at Maynard Plastics/ Webster Industries in Salem and Peabody for 28 years. He then went on to United Stationers of Woburn for a few years and then retired. He worked a few second part time jobs through his life to make ends meet like at Ann & Hope and finishing his part time work at Kelly Volkswagen. His proudest moments at some of these companies were creating and leading a safety and fire prevention committee, that ensured a safe work environment. After starting his own family in Salem for many years, Russ moved his family to 6 Loris Road, Peabody, where he lived as a child. Mr. Marron loved the City of Peabody and could often be found down at City Hall stirring up issues on public safety and other issues he felt passionate about to help the community. He was like the mayor of Loris and Reynolds's Road as many remember defending his neighborhood he lived in for so many years as a child and then as a father raising his own family there. Russ loved the Boston Red Sox, choosing to listen to the games on his radio rather than watching them on TV sometimes. He loved listening to Oldies music, Country and Western, and his most favorite of all was the King, Elvis Presley. Russ treated himself to a trip to Graceland! One of his greatest pastimes back in the day was chasing fires. He always had his scanner on. If they hit a second alarm, he was out the door. He liked helping out if he could and taking pictures of the fires, firetrucks and the firefighters working so hard. He had always wanted to be a firefighter but never got to so this was his way of helping. Footer 1 Russ Marron was the kindest and most generous man there ever was. He did so much for his family, friends and anyone that would ask for his help. He was the greatest Dad and Papa there ever was. He was a social butterfly, striking up conversation with anyone, anywhere, anytime. Russ is survived by his five children, son Albert Loyte and his wife Cindy of Wakefield, NH, son Michael Loyte of Greenfield, ME, son Mark Loyte of Peabody, daughter Cheryl and her husband Tom Marr of Peabody, and son Jason Marron of Peabody. Nine grandchildren, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Ashley, Tyler, Tommy, Stevie, Matthew, Mindy, Autumn and 10 great grandchildren. Russ is also survived by his brother Robert Marron and his wife Debbie of Port Charlotte, FL. Also, several very special nieces and nephews. Russell is predeceased by his parents, Howard and Irene (Frisbie) Marron, brothers, Ronald H. Marron and Bruce A. Marron.
As per Russell's wishes, there will be a Celebration of Life on September 21, 2025, at the VFW, Stevens Street, Peabody. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in dads name to St. Stephen's Memorial Episcopal Church, 74 S Common St. Lynn, MA. 01902 or a charity of your choice.

Plant a tree: How does it work

When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.

An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.

After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.

Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
