Danvers - Roger M. "Skip" Wiley, III, 77, of Danvers, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, February 12, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Christine (Edwards) Wiley, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.
Born in Beverly on August 14, 1947, Skip was the son of the late Roger and Joy (Marshall) Wiley, Jr. He graduated from Beverly High School in 1965 and went on to serve honorably in the United States Navy for three years. He graduated from North Shore Community College in 1971.
Skip was an active member of the Danvers Fish and Game Club and the Danvers Alarm List Company. His passion for history and the outdoors led him to become a dedicated member of the Northeast Mountain Men and the American Mountain Men. He also volunteered his time at Old Sturbridge Village, sharing his love for history with others.
An avid outdoorsman, Skip enjoyed camping—particularly primitive camping and was deeply passionate about the Revolutionary War and historical reenactments. Skip loved to play golf and one of his proudest achievements was scoring a hole-in-one at New Meadows Golf Club.
Above all, Skip was a devoted family man. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He took great pride in coaching his son's youth hockey team, touching the lives of many young athletes.
Skip is survived by his wife, Christine; his two children, Melissa Wiley of Beverly and Craig Wiley of San Diego; his brother, Richard of Danvers; his brother, Rob and his wife, Jayne of Beverly; his sisters, Sandy Pasquarelli and her husband, Peter of Hamilton, and Alyson Roe and her husband, Bob of Danvers. He also leaves behind two cherished grandchildren, Aydan Wiley and Nazayah McLaughlin, his mother-in-law, Norma Edwards of Beverly, his sister-in-law, Pam Wiley of Beverly, as well as numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Gordon Wiley, a sister-in-law, Heather Wiley and his nephew, Jason Wiley.
