Robert L. Tondreault Obituary
Beverly - Robert L. Tondreault, 87, of Beverly, MA, passed away on February 19th, 2026. Born in Ipswich, he grew up on the North Shore and carried a lifelong connection to the communities that shaped him.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Navy, where he was a Naval Radar Operator and Co-Pilot on a P5M seaplane aboard an aircraft carrier. His four years of service remained a defining chapter of his life, one he spoke of with pride and humility.
His life changed forever the day he met Marguerite Jane (Moore) while skating on Patton Park Pond in Hamilton. They married in 1960 and built a loving life together for 58 years until her passing in 2018. Together they raised two daughters, Linda A. Iwanicki and Eileen LeBlanc, who were the center of his world.
In his early years, Robert worked as a landscaper before beginning a long career as a salesman with the USM Harmonic Drive Division in Peabody, where he retired at age 65. Known for his steady work ethic and easy-going nature, he made lasting friendships wherever he went.
Robert found his greatest joy in the simple, meaningful rhythms of family life. He adored his grandchildren, cherished the family pets, and could often be found working around the yard. He took particular pride in maintaining the family pool, a gathering place for countless summer memories. A true family man, he also loved to travel – especially cruises - and embraced every opportunity to explore new places with the people he loved most.
He is lovingly survived by his two daughters, Linda Iwanicki and her husband, John Iwanicki, and Eileen LeBlanc. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Michelle Iwanicki and her fiancé, Connor Greenleaf, Dylan LeBlanc and his fiancée Maddie Rennie, and Josh LeBlanc and his wife, Lisa LeBlanc. His legacy continues through his great-granddaughter, Avery LeBlanc, his family's newest addition. Robert will be remembered for his devotion to family, his quiet strength, and the stories he carried from a life well lived.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Margaret of Scotland Church, 672 Hale St., Beverly, MA, on Tuesday, February 24, at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly, MA on the same day, prior to Mass from 9 to 11 a.m. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Brimbal Ave., Beverly.
