Beverly - Beverly - Robert Donald Berry, affectionately known as Bob to his friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully of natural causes on the 22nd of July, 2025, at Beverly Hospital in Beverly, MA. Born on December 5, 1933, in Salem, MA, Bob's life was one marked by dedication, skill, and the warm affection he had for his family and friends.
Bob graduated from Beverly High and Trade School Patternmaking Course. After
graduation, his sense of duty led him to serve his country in the Air Force during the Korean War, an experience that instilled in him a sense of resilience and pride.
Upon his return, Bob began his career in patternmaking at the United Shoe Machinery Corp in Beverly. After USM's closure he continued to hone his skills at several local pattern shops. Demonstrating his entrepreneurial spirit, Bob, together with his son Michael, founded Burlington Pattern, a venture that not only showcased his expertise but also his commitment to family.
Later in life, Bob found a new avenue for his talents, working as a carpenter and
handyman for Modern Continental Construction for eight years before his well-deserved retirement. His hands were rarely still, for he found joy in the art of creation in woodworking or completing intricate jigsaw puzzles.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved spouse, Joanne (DiVincenzo) Berry. He was a cherished father to his children: Robert and his spouse Wendy, Julie and her partner Mark Geremia, Michael and his spouse Revae, Peter and his spouse Deanna, and Christine. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren Each of them carries forward a legacy of love, strength, and the precious memories of time spent at the family cottage on Lake Winnipesaukee.
Bob's legacy is one of serving the community and teaching, as shown by his many years as Scoutmaster of Troop 4 in Beverly, and his 50 plus years as a member of the Masons, at the Liberty Lodge in Beverly. He touched the lives of many and leaves behind a tapestry of memories woven with the threads of his kindness, thoughtfulness, and handy skills. As we say goodbye to Robert Donald Berry, we reflect on a life that was a true testament to the power of hard work, the importance of family, and the enduring warmth of a life lived in service to others.
