Nashua - Nashua - Robert M. "Bob" Babiarz, 87, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack after several years of declining health, surrounded by his family.

He was born on December 9, 1937, in Peabody, MA, at the home of his parents.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Sandra (McGrane), daughter, Christine Nakos and her husband, Loukas, daughter, Andrea Eagleston and her husband, Erik, son-in-law, Elliott Hewitt, grandchildren, Jaclyn Page and her husband, Joey; Hayley Nakos, Rachel Nakos, Emily Hewitt, Elizabeth Eagleston, Kelly Eagleston and Christian Eagleston. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Sharon Hewitt with whom he has been reunited.

He was also predeceased by his brother, Michael Babiarz, his sister, Joanne Bradley, his brothers-in-law, James O'Connor and Thomas McGrane.

Bob was born and raised in Peabody, MA. Even as young boy he had a strong work ethic, working on his parents' chicken farm.

After high school he and his good friend joined the Army where he spent time in Texas, with some occasional trips to Mexico.

He met his wife Sandra in 1960 and they married in 1961. They spent almost 64 wonderful years together raising their three beautiful daughters of whom he was always very proud. "Grandpa" was a title that he wore proudly.

He started Babiarz Construction company in 1963. He spent over 25 years building homes around the North Shore, two of which he custom built for his own family. He often helped family and friends with projects around their homes. He was always ready to lend a hand.

He changed careers and started the Babiarz Trucking Company. He spent 25 years driving locally and interstate with several employees with whom he had a good camaraderie and friendship.

He spent the last ten years of his work life driving a school bus. He ran a tight ship, which was appreciated by principles and students who didn't follow the rules, didn't get to ride the bus.

Bob and Sandra moved to Nashua seven years ago to be close to their family.

Bob had a big and generous heart and a great sense of humor. Above all he cherished his family. Bob and Sandra hosted many holidays, cookouts and parties at their home with extended family and friends. At the center of the celebrations was Bob, enjoying the company of everyone, Johnny Cash playing on the record player, rum and cokes for everybody. He was typically the last man standing at these celebrations. He was happiest surrounded by the people who loved him and who he loved.

Bob will be missed by all who knew him, but we are grateful for the long time we had to spend with him. We will always feel his presence in our hearts.

Visiting hours will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. Peabody, Friday, August 15, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. followed by a service in the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
