Richard E. Pelletier Obituary

Danvers - Richard E. Pelletier, 90, passed away on January 15, 2026, following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Betty (Hardin) Pelletier with whom he shared 50 years of marriage.

Born in Salem on July 18, 1935, he was the son of the late Edward and Alice (Fornier) Pelletier. Richard was raised and educated in Salem and graduated from Salem High School. Richard had a long career as a mechanical engineer. He also served our country with the United States Army Reserves.

Richard was the ultimate outdoorsman. He and his childhood friend, the late Tom Pelletier, hunted together throughout their lives.

In addition to his wife, Betty, he is survived by five children, Michael Pelletier and his wife, Sally of Epping, NH, Mark Pelletier and his wife Janice of Belmont, NH, Denise Bernard of Salem, Laurie Langlois and her husband John of Danvers and Keith Pelletier and his wife Kathy of Iowa and his stepchildren, Gregory Hardin of Peabody, Roxanne Lamb of Danvers and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his stepdaughter, Julia Mahoney and his grandson, Christopher Whyman.

His Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St, Danvers. Burial will follow in Saint Mary Cemetery, Salem. Visitation will be held prior to his service Wednesday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Online directions and condolences at LyonsFuneral.com.
