Rhys William Jones Obituary

Peabody - Rhys Jones, 49, passed away suddenly on June 20 from complications of congestive heart disease. Born on January 29th 1977 at Lynn Union hospital, Rhys was raised in Peabody and graduated from Peabody Veterans Memorial high school where he was a proud member of the Peabody Tanners football team under Coach Niz.

After moving to Great Britain a few years after graduation, Rhys settled in first in Leyland and then in Skelmersdale Lancashire where he worked in the manufacturing and service sectors. There he became a lifelong fan of the Liverpool football club. And was especially pleased when the club was purchased by the Boston based Fenway Sports Group. And of course, sticking close to his roots, Rhys also was an avid fan of the New England Patriots for whom he often stayed up to all hours of a Monday morning English time to watch them play live.

Rhys loved Ozzie Osborn and Black Sabbath and Motley Crew.

His most cherished achievement was raising six adoring children as a single Dad. Brogane, Siobhan, Calam, Niamh, Liam and Shawn. He left a wonderful legacy in his kids. He raised them to be amazing human beings. If love could have kept him alive he would have lived forever.

He was predeceased by his father John. Besides his children he is survived by his mom Enid and his brother Gary and his two grandchildren Charlie and Eva.
