Salem - Mr. Raymond L. Muse, of Salem, beloved husband of Bonnie R. (Jones) Muse, died Friday, February 7, 2020, following a lengthy struggle with cancer. He is also survived by two sons, Robert Nathaniel of Norfolk, and William Andrew of Grafton.

Ray was born and raised in Salem and was educated in Salem public and parochial schools. He attended St. Mary's High School in Lynn and graduated from Boston College, class of 1965.

Ray returned to Salem after a successful career in sales and regional management working in the office products and office furniture industry. He retired after concentrating on the educational furniture market covering New England and the Upstate New York markets.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, and cousin, Ray enjoyed walking, gardening and grilling year-round, regardless of the weather.

He was devoted to his long love of 47 years and best friend, Bonnie. Above all, family always came first. He was happiest when he and Bonnie were with their boys, their wives and grandchildren, Bob and his wife Colleen, and their children Molly, Liam, Griffin, and Emmett; and Bill and his wife Rachel and their twin girls, Pearl and Stella.

Ray also enjoyed the company of his cousins James and Gertrude Muse, Fredrick and Kathleen Paluzzi, and Ronald and Mary Plutnicki.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 14, 2020, at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 15 Hawthorne Blvd., Salem. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the MGH Fund for Cancer Research, c/o MGH Development Office, 125 Nashua St. #540, Boston, MA 02114. Dear Bonnie and Family,
I am unable to attend the wake or service, however, you are all in my thoughts. Ray was a great guy and will deeply be missed. So sorry for your loss. He is in my prayers.

Oh, Bonnie, I am so sad to hear of Ray's passing. I am out of state until next week and grateful for this opportunity to express my condolences. As you were/are the model for teachers, you and Ray served as the model for marriage and parenthood.
The pain has to be deep, but the memories will eventually win out. God Bless!
