New York - Paul A. Bonner, 73, of Beverly, MA, died peacefully on March 16, 2025 surrounded by his family. He lived every day of his life to the fullest right up until the end.
He was a beloved father to his daughter Leah Bonner, of Beverly, MA and his son Paul R. Bonner and his wife Meaghan Lyons Bonner, of Essex, MA. He was a cherished grandfather to Amelia Jean Bonner who adored his big hugs and silly jokes. He is predeceased by his wife, Jean (Kazanovicz) Bonner with whom he shared 32 years of marriage. Paul also leaves many nieces and nephews, as well as several close friends.
Paul graduated from Boston College and worked for many years as a successful computer software engineer. He was an esteemed member of the St. John's Episcopal Church in Beverly Farms, where he sang in the choir. He loved playing tennis and working out with his personal trainer. He had an extensive collection of sci-fi and fantasy books and a reading voice that filled the room. Paul was an avid traveler who in earlier years visited destinations around the country on his Valkyrie motorcycle. Ultimately, his favorite place to be was at home on West Beach, where he lived for over 40 years with a liberal open-door policy. The Bonner home has held many weddings, parties, and celebrations over the years with Paul as the gracious host who always made room for one more seat at the table.
His funeral service will be at St. John's the Episcopal Church, 705 Hale Street, Beverly Farms on Monday, March 24th at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be at Harmony Grove Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Paul's memory to Beverly Bootstraps, 35 Park Street, Beverly.
