Peabody - Nancy Claire Lalikos, 90, of Peabody died in the early morning of July 30, 2026 at Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a brief illness.

Born in Peabody on October 4, 1935, she remained a life-long Peabody resident. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Yianoula (Karidoyianis) Lalikos, both from the Mani Peninsula in the Peloponnese, Greece. She was the youngest of eight siblings.

Nancy graduated from Peabody High School in 1953 and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1957. While she was working full days, she continued her education at night, earning her Master's Degree in Health Science at Northeastern University. She had a long career as a medical technologist, first at Salem Hospital in Salem, then J.B. Thomas Hospital in Peabody, then Enaco Labs in Lynnfield, and returning to Salem Hospital's North Shore Medical Center where she retired at 73 years old.

An active member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody, Nancy was a member of the Philoptochos, where she baked Greek pastries, volunteered at church festivals, and generally did whatever was needed. She especially enjoyed visiting homebound people in need of company. She attended weekly Bible study and was a member of the Makrina group.

Throughout her life, Nancy loved to travel. Trips included Morocco, Egypt, Hawaii, Alaska, a cross-country drive of the United States, multiple countries in Europe, and a church group trip to Isreal and the Holy Land. She especially loved Spain. She even traveled through Europe via virtual reality at the Peabody Senior Center.

Nancy was a Renaissance woman who was always busy pursuing artistic, intellectual, and other interests. She loved gardening, and at one time was a member of the Peabody Garden Club. She was an avid reader. She took pottery, ceramics, and painting classes and gifted many of her friends and family with her pictures and art projects. She studied cake decorating and made wedding cakes for many family weddings. She enjoyed attending lecture series at the Peabody Institute Library on a variety of literary topics. She loved the theater, from seasons ticket performances at the North Shore Music Theater to shows on Broadway. She volunteered at the Children's Museum in Peabody. Over her life she cared for many pets, including her beloved miniature schnauzer, Abbot. She was willing to try anything and everything and fit so many activities into her full life.

She will be remembered for Sundays after church, when three generations of the Lalikos family would gather at her house for breakfast. In later years she enjoyed time with her friends during coffee hour at the church. She loved brunch, a good mimosa or glass of wine, her afternoon soap operas, a trip to the casino, and her iPad. Nancy was always the first at the bedside when someone was sick. She was a person with an unflappable nature who moved through the world with ease and grace. She never thought of herself first and was always there for others to give support, compassion, and love.

"Aunt Nancy" is survived by her niece, Marietta Goodridge of Salem; great-nephew, Peter Goodridge, his wife, Kristen, and their son, Trevor; great-niece, Nicole Charles, her husband, Schaeffer, and their children Theo and Zoe; as well as a large family of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who love her very much. She was predeceased by siblings John, James, George, Connie, and Stephen Lalikos, Kanella Curebanas, and Beatrice Polemenako.

Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 5 Paleologos Street, Peabody at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Peabody.
