Mona Elizabeth Labrecque Obituary

Parrish - Parrish - Mona Elizabeth (Gagnon) Labrecque, 86, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025, in Waxhaw, North Carolina. Born and raised in Salem, Massachusetts, Mona relocated to Parrish, Florida in 2018 to be closer to family.

She is survived by her loving sister, Jean Marie Cirinna and her husband, Frank. Mona was the devoted mother of three children: Gregg M. Labrecque and his wife, Mary of Sarasota, FL; Eric R. Labrecque and his husband, Paulo Cordero of Parrish, FL; and Leanne E. Labrecque-Brown and her husband, Sam Brown of Waxhaw, NC.

Mona was predeceased by her parents, Rosario and Elizabeth Gagnon, and by her beloved husband of 51 years, L. Raymond Labrecque. She was cherished as "Gram" by her six grandchildren: Valerie Ryan (and her husband Chris) of North Andover, MA; Maxwell Labrecque of Georgetown, MA; Seth Brown (and his wife Abi) of Colorado Springs, CO; Aaron, Carson, and Trinity Brown of Waxhaw, NC. She also leaves behind her great-granddaughter, Eloise Ryan, who lovingly called her "GG."

A devout Catholic, Mona was an active and faithful member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Peabody, MA, where she served in many capacities over the years.

Mona had a passion for reading and found great joy in camping and traveling with her family. She worked at John Hancock Financial in Salem before devoting herself full-time to raising her family. Later, she returned to work as Charter Manager at Michaud Bus Lines, where she became an integral part of the company's story and success until her retirement.

She and Ray continued to enjoy weekends and vacations at Old Chatham Campground in Dennis, MA—creating countless treasured memories during their retirement years.

Mona's life was defined by her love for her family, her generosity, and her kindness. She was known for giving freely to charities and always offering a helping hand to those in need. Her strength and resilience were unwavering throughout her four-year battle with cancer, which she faced with courage and grace.

A Memorial Mass will be held in celebration of Mona's life on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 11:30 A.M. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Margin Street, Peabody, MA.
