Tewksbury - Michael J. Newman, 68 of Tewksbury, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at his home with his wife by his side. He was the husband of Arline F. (Gallagher) Newman, with whom he shared the last 39 years of marriage.

He was born in Beverly, MA on November 23, 1954 and was the son of the late Russell J. and the late Margaret (Dobbins) Newman. He was raised in Beverly, where he attended the area schools. He graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelors Degree, and earned his MBA from Southern New Hampshire University.

He was a lifetime member of the Beverly Elks #1309. He loved following all Boston sports teams; and enjoyed spending time golfing with family and friends. He also enjoyed good company and fine dining with loved ones.

In addition to his wife, Arline Newman of Tewksbury, he is survived by his sister, Patricia Newman and her partner, Joe Brennan. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters in law, Richard Gallagher and his wife, Sally (Fleming) of Mt Pleasant, SC, Janet Graham and her husband, James of Bradford, MA, and Carol Gallagher of Haverhill, MA ; his nieces, Jennifer, Courtney, Kelley and Marcie; and his nephews, Michael and James. He was the brother of the late Richard Burke who passed away in 2007

On Thursday, December 29, 2022, all are welcome to attend his calling hours from 3 to 5 p.m. with his funeral service at 5 p.m. at Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury, MA 978-851-2061. On Friday morning, his committal service will take place at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Cemetery Chapel, 90 River Road, Tewksbury. Please meet directly at the cemetery chapel.
