Wenham - Melanie Pabisz, 69, of Wenham, formerly of Peabody, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers surrounded by her loving family after a courageous 12 year battle with stage 4 breast cancer. She was the beloved companion of the late Glenn Soucy with whom she shared many fond memories until his passing in 2002.

She was born in Salem, MA and was the cherished daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Zastowsky) Pabisz.

Melanie was raised in Peabody and attended Peabody Public Schools, graduating from Peabody Veterans Memorial High School in 1974. Over her working career she had several jobs, including as a sales associate at Ann & Hope, working in the art dept. at Salem Evening News and medical coding at Essex Radiological.

She was a talented pianist, devoted bird watcher and a lifelong cat lover. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her son and his family including her grandchildren.

Melanie is survived by her son, David Pabisz and his wife Michelle of Danvers; her 3 grandchildren, Joshua, Maggie and Allie Pabisz, all of Danvers; her brother, John Pabisz and his wife Beth of Vista, CA; her sisters, Suzanne Slack of Danvers and Mary Jane Pabisz of Peabody; her aunt, Emelia Zastowsky of Peabody; and many loving nieces, cousins and friends.

Sadly, in addition to her parents and her loving companion, she is predeceased by her brothers, Franklin and Henry Pabisz.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours at Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody on Monday, June 1, 2026 from 9:30AM to 11AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Ann's Church in Peabody.
