Danvers - Maurice S. O'Connell, 87, passed away on February 5, 2025. He was the devoted longtime companion of Carol A. Morrissey.

Born in Hamilton on June 20, 1937, he was the son of the late Geoffrey and Elizabeth (Donovan) O'Connell. Maurice graduated from Holten High School in 1955. He served our country with the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. He had a long career in heavy equipment repair and maintenance, with the skills he acquired while in the service. Maurice was a true "townie" and enjoyed weekly coffee with his dear friend Peter Ellsworth.

In addition to Carol, he is survived by his sister, Margaret Cummings and nieces and nephew, JoAnn Butterworth, Michael Cummings, Mary Margaret Kopaskie and Kathleen Johnson. As well as many other extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, John O'Connell.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to his Mass on Tuesday at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial is private.
