Mary Lou Moran Obituary
Peabody - Mary Lou Moran, 87, of Peabody, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 27, 2026, following a period of declining health.
Born in Danvers on February 26, 1939, she was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Norma (Fish) Moran. She was raised and educated in Danvers, graduating in the class of 1957 from Danvers High School. Mary Lou was a devout Catholic and spread her love and kindness to all. To know her was to love her.
Mary Lou worked as a switchboard operator at Conrad and Chandler at the North Shore Mall for many years. When her son was young, she spent many hours as a scorekeeper for his numerous baseball games. This ignited her love for the game. She became a lifelong Red Sox fan, never missing a game. But more than anything, her greatest joy was found in her family. A proud mother and grandmother, she adored her son Craig and her two beautiful granddaughters. They were her true treasures. Mary Lou died peacefully with dignity and grace, just as she had lived her life.
Mary Lou is survived by her son, Craig Moran and his wife, Jessica of Canton; her sisters, Jean Bouras of Danvers, Sally Zavarella of Danvers, and Donna Arroyo of Lynn; her granddaughters, Allison and Abigail Moran; her nephews Matthew Bouras, and Michael and Christian Zavarella; her niece Christina Tinney; and her beloved lifelong friend, Georgina Broussard. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, former Danvers Chief of Police Christ Bouras.
Visiting hours will be held at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody, on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. Her funeral Mass will be at St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers, on Friday, August 7, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Harmony Grove Cemetery in Salem.
