Danvers - Mary Heinerich of Danvers, MA, passed away surrounded by her family on May 11, 2026 following a brief illness. Born in Chelsea, MA, on May 8, 1961, she was the daughter of​ the late Herbert and Minerva Heinerich​.

Mary was a graduate of El Cajon Valley High School and attended the Spa Tech Institute. Following graduation, Mary moved to Beverly MA where she fell in love with New England's coast and its four seasons. She worked briefly as a plant caretaker in New York city and as a manager of Kabloom flowers in Peabody MA. Her love of plants and flowers turned into a hobby and she took great pride in her indoor collection of plants and her outside flower gardens in the Summer. In addition to her love for plant life Mary was happiest when riding her bicycle along the coast of the North Shore on rides to Newburyport or the occasional trip up to Portsmouth NH or to York Beach in Maine. She also loved going to the gym, a habit she began in 2005.

Mary was well known for her laugh. Her friends loved to hear it and people she barely knew would often comment on how lovely her laugh sounded. Her laugh was deeply genuine and sincere.

Mary made lifelong friends during her 30 year tenure at The Hawthorne Hotel and later when she worked in the healthcare industry at Beth Israel Lahey Health and eventually at Atrius Health.

In addition to her partner, Paul McNeil of Danvers, Mary is survived by her sisters Ann Bareno and husband Alex, Laura Grundy, Crystal Cerda and Irene McKeon as well as her brothers, Herb, Mark and Larry Heinerich and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the American Red Cross of Massachusetts.
