Georgetown - Marilyn S. (Auger) Bernard, 89, of Georgetown and formerly of Bradford, Peabody, and Lynn, died Thursday morning, December 29, at Cedar View Rehabilitation, Methuen.

She was born in Lynn, May 20, 1933, daughter of the late Lawrence and Jessie (Collins) Auger.

Educated in the Lynn school system, Marilyn graduated from Lynn English High School and Burdett Business College.

Marilyn's career provided her with vast medical knowledge from her positions as a Medical Secretary and Laboratory Manager at various doctors' offices and hospitals.

She and her late husband were accomplished dancers, including spirited Greek dancing. Marilyn was also an accomplished gardener, bird enthusiast, and animal lover. Marilyn was an exceptional cook who loved to entertain for her family and friends. She enjoyed volunteering for the food pantry at Sacred Heart Church.

She will be remembered as a loving, caring, devoted wife, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend to many.

Marilyn was the wife of the late Robert Bernard who died in 2008 and sister of the late Ellen Bernard.

Her survivors include four daughters, Diane Chick of Haverhill, Nancy Bernard of Haverhill, Laurie Whitney and her husband David of Grafton, Kristie Bernard of Gloucester, three grandsons, Nathan Bernard, Daniel Whitney and Matthew Whitney, sister-in-law Kathleen Joyce, as well as several nieces and nephews among whom is Kim Schnurbush of Huntsville, TX.


Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her celebration of life on Saturday, January 7th, from 10 to 11 A.M. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 So. Main St., Bradford, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the MSPCA, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
