Louis M. Albiero, Sr. Obituary
Beverly - Louis M. Abiero, Sr., 79, of Beverly, MA passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Monday, May 25th, 2026.
Lou was born in Peabody, MA on April 17th, 1947 to Jennie (Bettinazzi) and Giuseppe Albiero. Lou attended Peabody High School, graduating in 1964. After graduation, Lou volunteered to serve his country joining the United States Army from March 1966 to February 1969. While in the Army, he deployed to Phu Lam, Vietnam from February 1968 to February 1969 earning the rank of Specialist 5th Class and serving as a Ciphony Repairmen maintaining and repairing sensitive secure voice communications equipment. Upon returning to civilian life, Lou began working for the father of a very close friend's plumbing business ultimately earning his license as a master plumber and, subsequently, owning Albiero Plumbing and Heating for 21 years. Later, he went to work for Leader Management in Brookline, MA. For those 10 years, Lou was singularly responsible for the plumbing work for over 300 units in the Greater Boston area. The move to Cummings Properties in Beverly, MA came later where he enjoyed the idea of working as part of a team rather than being the only plumber. Lou worked for Cummings Properties for 12 years before fully retiring in July of 2015.
Lou had many hobbies and interests. He loved fishing for striped bass in the warmer months and ice fishing with his friends in the winter. A member of the Northshore Frogmen's Club, Lou was an avid SCUBA diver and spent many hours diving for lobster with his brother Angie, and later, his son Lou Jr. Additionally, he really enjoyed target shooting. Lou was also a long-time member of the B.P.O. Elks and held many offices throughout his membership, most notably as Exalted Ruler of the Marblehead Elks Lodge and then again as the Exalted Ruler of the Peabody Elks Lodge. Other notable interests include a fascination with motorcycles, vintage cars, old-time rock and roll, traveling with his wife, and working in his garden.
Lou is survived by his wife, Cynthia (Macaro), daughter, Amy Albiero, son, Lou Albiero, Jr. and his wife Corinne, and grandchildren, Noelle (Sommer) and Marek as well as his many nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his parents, sister, Josephine (Lussier) and brothers, Angelo and Alfonso.
His funeral service will be at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, on Wednesday, June 3rd at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 2nd, from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers or gifts, contributions may be made in Lou's memory to dementiasociety.org, which supports Lewy Body Dementia research.
