Lionel Darisse, 80, of Middleton and formerly of St. Andre, Quebec, Canada, died Thursday, February 23, 2017, at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington.
Born on December 14, 1936, in St. Andre, Quebec, Canada, he was the son of the late Irenee and Jeannette Darisse.
He worked as a Union Carpenter for 26 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of the U.S. Army. Lionel was a resident of Middleton for the past 53 years and was a member of St. Agnes Church.
He had a great love for his family and seeing them laugh and have fun. He enjoyed fishing, building things and working with his hands. He loved music and playing his guitar.
Family members include his beloved wife of 57 years, Rose Marie (LaMarre) Darisse; his sons, Rene Darisse and his wife, Cheryl of Hudson, N.H., Brian Darisse and his wife, Nicki of Pelham, N.H., Ronald Darisse and his wife, Vikki of Salem, N.H., and Charles Darisse and his wife, Orlena of Haverhill; his daughter, Michelle Gilbert and her husband, Gerard of Haverhill; his brothers, Donald Darisse of Quebec, Canada and Yvon Darisse of Beverly; sisters, Rita Darisse of Salem, Carmen Darisse and Rejeane Chouinard of Quebec, Canada; grandchildren, Kailee, Cassandra, Chantel, Amber, Montana, Brianna, Joey, Trevor, Jeremy and Thomas Darisse, Pete and Paul, Jr. Muzichuk and the late Amanda Muzichuk.

Funeral from the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Thursday, March 2, at 7:45 a.m., followed by a 9 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Agnes Church, 22 Boston Street (Route 62), Middleton. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, March 1, from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery in Middleton.
