Peabody - Leina R. "Lee" (Romanuk) DeSimone, of Peabody, formerly of Woburn and Lynn, May 22, at the age of 69. She was the beloved wife of the late Gerald C. "Jerry" DeSimone.

Born in Salem, Mass., and raised in Peabody, Lee was a beloved daughter of the late Peter and Ruth (Leinbach) Romanuk. She was a graduate of Lynn English High School.

Leina dedicated and devoted her life to caring for her children and those in need of a family, fostering over 100 children throughout the years. Whether it was for a brief time or a lifetime, she made each child feel loved unconditionally and enriched their lives.

Leina lived in Woburn for 20 years before moving to Lowell and then ultimately back to Peabody. Spending time with her many children and grandchildren was her greatest joy. She enjoyed taking road trips with friends, going to craft fairs and vacationing at their N.H. cottage. She was a social butterfly and loved being around family and friends.

Lee had a great faith and was a longtime member of the Church of the Living God in Woburn and read her bible religiously.

Lee is survived and will be deeply missed by her children, Marcus DeSimone of Salem, N.H., Benjamin DeSimone, his wife Aubre of Chicopee, Adam DeSimone, his wife Michelle of Sandown, N.H., Andrew DeSimone of Braintree, Crystal Taher, her husband Dan of Fla., William Pousland of Somerville, Christopher Pousland of Saugus and Nicole Pousland of Somerville. Cherished grandmother of Norah, Lia, Olive, Astrid, Jeremy, Poppy, Corey, Kiersten, Juan and Enzo. Dear sister of Sherry, Sandra, Marsha and the late Gregory.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours, Thursday, May 27, from 4 to 7 p.m., in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main St., Woburn. All attending are asked to enter through the front door of the funeral home and exit through the back door. A graveside prayer service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
