Beverly - Kimberly Welch Benjamin, of Beverly, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
Born in Los Angeles to William and Louella Welch, Kim attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where she met her husband of 49 years, Chris. The two moved to Maryland in 1982, where Kim earned her master's degree in transfusion medicine, and later settled in Beverly in 1985 to raise their family. Kim worked as a medical technologist for more than 30 years at local hospitals, serving patients with dedication and kindness.
Kim loved living near the ocean and spending time outdoors. She found joy in tending to her garden, creating stained-glass art, and gathering with friends and family. Deeply engaged in her community, she was an active member of the League of Women Voters, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and a proud Cub Scout den leader. Passionate about inspiring young learners, Kim also helped launch the Math and Science After School and Destination Imagination programs at Ayers Ryal Side Elementary School.
Kim will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering commitment to her family and community.
Kim is survived by her husband, Christopher; her children, Philip (Crista) and Lucas (Tiffany); her granddaughter, Zuri; and many dear friends and extended family near and far.
Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 6th at 10am at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 9am to 10am. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Beverly Bootstraps, a cause close to Kim's heart.
