Hampton Falls - Kevin Michael Martin, 73, of Hampton Falls, New Hampshire, formerly of Beverly, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family—devoted wife, Sandy (Sam) and his daughters, Kerry and Jill—at his bedside.

Kevin was born on August 10, 1952, at Salem Hospital in Salem, Massachusetts, to Robert S. Martin and Dorothy F. (Young) Martin. He grew up in Beverly, Massachusetts, where he developed the strong work ethic, loyalty, and sense of humor that would define his life.

A proud veteran, Kevin served in the Army National Guard at the age of 18. One of his family's favorite stories from that time was when he returned home after basic training. Dressed in uniform, he knocked on the front door. His mother answered, looked at the handsome young soldier standing before her, and asked, "Can I help you?" With a grin, he replied, "Mom, it's me—Kevin." It became a story that brought laughter to the family for years.

After his military service, Kevin built a career in plumbing and heating. He worked for many years alongside his brother, Robert, at Patterson Plumbing & Heating in Ipswich, Massachusetts, and remained in the trade until retirement. He took pride in honest work and the friendships he formed throughout his career.

Kevin was the loving husband and best friend of Sandy Martin (Sam) with whom he shared 27 wonderful years of marriage. Shortly after they married, Kevin and Sandy purchased their home in Hampton Falls, where they spent the rest of their lives together. Though physical limitations challenged him in later years, Kevin never lost his love of the outdoors. He found joy in tending his gardens, going to the beach, grilling for family and friends, playing cribbage, caring for his koi pond and pool and going to the beach. He was also an avid consumer of the history channel and enjoyed hosting family holidays in earlier years.

His greatest joy was becoming a father to his daughters, Kerry and Jill Martin. They were his world, and he often said becoming their father was the best thing he ever did. He was incredibly proud of the women and mothers they became, and their love and support gave him the strength and determination to keep fighting.

Kevin had a special place in his heart for dogs and the unconditional love they bring. His family finds comfort imagining him reunited with Haley and Hogan, whose companionship brought him so much happiness over the years.

Kevin was known for his quick wit and remarkable sense of humor. No matter how difficult life became, he met it with laughter and that remained till the very end. His happiest moments were when his three girls Sandy, Kerry, and Jill and his grandchildren were together under one roof.

He was blessed with lifelong friendships that stood the test of time. His dear friends Paul Kevin and Billy Gannon remained steadfast sources of support, laughter, and companionship throughout his life.

Kevin bravely fought two battles with cancer. His courage and unwavering will to keep going gave his family precious extra time together.

Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Sandy Martin of North Hampton, NH, his daughters; Kerry Martin of Haverhill, Massachusetts and Jill Martin of Hudson, New Hampshire, his brother, David Martin of Gloucester, Massachusetts, and his wife, Jane Martin; his sister, Patricia Fabri of Beverly, Massachusetts, and her husband, Lawrence Fabri; and his five cherished grandsons, Ryan, Michael, Jameson, Brody, and Trevor, whom he adored, along with many nieces and nephews he loved spending time with. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert S. Martin and Dorothy F. Martin, and his beloved brother and sister in law; Robert Martin and Carol Martin.

Kevin left this world on the Fourth of July—a day when the sky fills with light (also one of his favorite holidays). From now on, as fireworks brighten the night each Independence Day, they will carry new meaning for those who loved him.
