Danvers - Danvers - Kenneth Blood Finkenaur 82, beloved husband of Susan (Cochrane) Finkenaur, died peacefully on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with his loving wife by his side.
Born in West Point, New York on August 5th 1942 he was the son of the late Robert & Elizabeth (Blood) Finkenaur. Raised in a military family, Ken traveled the world and lived in China, Germany and White Plains, New Mexico until they finally settled down in Newburgh, NY.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Army.
Mr. Finkenaur earned a degree from the University of New York Military College during his early 20s then met and married Susan (Cochrane) Finkenaur in 1968. Ken and Susan moved to Peabody in 1969 prior to building their home in Danvers in 1983 where they have since resided.
Ken loved nature, botany and most of all golfing. For years Ken ran and managed the Cape Cod Classic golf tournament. He was a loving husband, father, uncle, brother and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife with whom he shared fifty-seven years of marriage, he is survived by his two sons, Kevin Finkenaur of Maine and Michael Finkenaur of Danvers, his sister, Jeanne Marie Rock Meyers her husband, Christopher, his brother-in-law, Kevin Cochrane and his wife, Elizabeth and many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, "Rascal". He was also the brother of the late Robert, Jim and Geoff Finkenaur.
Visiting hours will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Wednesday, June 11, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. followed by a service in the funeral home at 6:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
