Peabody - Karen Inez (Peters) Moniz, age 80, of Peabody, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024. She was the wife of Garlend "Gary" Moniz.

Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Alecsina (Dockham) Peters. Karen had a BA in Music Education from Lowell State and MA-Lesley College. Prior to her retirement, she was a music teacher in the Peabody Public Schools for 32 years. Karen was a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association, National Education Association and National Association for Music Education. In addition to her husband Gary, Karen is survived by her son and his wife John and Tracie Moniz of Plymouth, MI, grandchildren Jeremy Moniz and Madison Moniz, her sister-in-law Arlene Peters of Bradenton, FL, her sister Shari Bundzinski of Epping NH and was the sister of the late Leslie Peters Jr., Gertrude "Trudy" Peters and sister-in-law of the late Al Bundzinski and Ed Peters.
