Peabody - June Ann Lane, 87, of Peabody, died at Salem Hospital on Wednesday February 4, 2026, days after suffering a devastating stroke.

Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Albertus and Stella (Stankovitch) Lane.

After graduating from St. John's High School in Peabody, she attended Salem State College. She earned her bachelor's degree in 1959, and she began her career as an elementary school teacher in the Peabody School System. After several years, she took teaching positions in Maryland and Colorado before settling in the Natick, MA School System for 35 years.

June was full of life and a lover of travel. A trip to Europe, a summer in Italy or weekend in Maine, June was always on the go. She loved current events and a good lively political discussion that often extended past dinner. June will always be remembered for her generosity to friends and family, her live life to the fullest attitude, and of course her million dollar laugh.

She was predeceased by her sister, Frances Smith and her brother Albert "Mickey" Lane. She is survived by her nieces, Stephanie and David Meader, Francine Mansfield, and Jacqueline Whitney, as well as her nephew Ralph Smith and his wife, Debby.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by her Funeral Service at 12 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
