Beverly - Judith "Judy" Kennedy passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Beverly she was the daughter of the late Helen F. Kennedy, the late Chester Kennedy and sister to Joyce L. Kennedy.
Judy attended Beverly High School and was a graduate of Marian Court College, Swampscott.
As a young girl she was involved in Brownies, Girl Scouts, Dance and helping with her family garden. She was also a lover of animals-particularly dogs.
While raising her young family, Judy was a waitress at some well-known local restaurants. As her children became older, she went into the banking business; First as a teller and then as a customer service representative retiring from The Beverly National Bank. As a mother, she always put her family first and supported everything they did. She was proud of her sons especially in their sports. She was involved in The Beverly Midget Football League and at the High School level where on both, she was a team mom and member of the 'Boosters' association. She also supported her daughters many years of dance.
In her leisure, Judy enjoyed Bingo, Keno, road trips with her friends to the casino's, cruise trips, spending time with family and for all that knew her, daily scratch tickets. Judy will always be remembered for being a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Family was essential and always came first. She took great pride in everything they accomplished. She was always present for family events and never missed milestones. She will be greatly missed especially around the holidays which were focal to her. Her very last wish was to cook the family Thanksgiving turkey this year. Unfortunately, she had to give up her roasting pan and pass down the task to the next generation.
She had many friends at 'The Anchor' in Beverly who supported her over the last few years while ill. Special thanks to Rosemarie (Roe) O'Fiesh of Beverly for her friendship to our mom and for always being there for her.
Besides her sister Joyce, Judy is survived by her daughter, Laurie A. Flynn; two sons: Leonard F. Flynn Jr. and his companion Maureen Murphy; Michael C Flynn and his wife Erin (O'Meara) Flynn; eight grandchildren Sean Paniagua, Ryan Paniagua, Jared Flynn, Brittany Flynn, Brianna Flynn, Michael C Flynn Jr, Emma Flynn and Eva Flynn.
Per Judy's request, there will be no services. She wanted to be remembered as her vibrant self before she became ill. There will be a celebration of her life at a future date. The family would like to thank Lahey Health at Home and Care Dimensions for their wonderful care and support in the final stage of her life. Donations can be made in her name to either organization. Arrangements by the Campbell Funeral Home. Information, directions, online condolences at www.campbellfuneral.com.
