Judith A. Bouffard Obituary

Groveland - With great sadness, the Bouffard family shares the loss of Judith "Judy" Bouffard. Judith, warmly known as Judy and Mémère, was born in Peabody, Massachusetts, on May 28, 1953. She was the daughter of the late Alcide and Loretta (King) Blais. Judy was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.

Judy leaves behind a family that enjoyed spending time with her and adored her immensely. She lived in Groveland, Massachusetts, with her husband of 42 years, Richard Bouffard. Judy was a proud mother of her son, Jason; and daughter, Kerry. She went to Antigua to see Jason marry his wife, Kathryn. Her two grandsons, Colin and Conor, adored their Mémère. Whether it was going to the movies, spending time together at home, or watching them play baseball or soccer, Mémère loved being with her grandsons.

Judy also leaves behind her six siblings: Carol Berkeley of Boxford, Mass., Theresa Flynn of Ipswich, Mass., Janet Blais of Salem, Mass., Gloria Coulter of Haverhill, Mass., Cheryl Rizzo of Bedford, N.H., and Donald Blais of Byfield, Mass. Additionally, she leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Judy earned her Bachelor of Science degree, with a specialization in counseling, from Lesley University, and was employed for over 30 years at the Northeast Arc. Judy was a compassionate and strong advocate for those with special needs, and she touched more lives than anyone could count. In her spare time, she was an accomplished seamstress who also loved to camp and garden. Judy's green thumb was evident in her Groveland backyard, every season of the year.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at 10 a.m. at the St. Patrick's Church in Groveland, Mass. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, Judy's family requests donations in her memory be made to Easterseals. Arrangements are by the H.L.
