Joseph Everett Homan, Jr. Obituary

Marblehead - Joseph E Homan Jr., 86, died peacefully on December 25, 2025 at The Kaplan House in Danvers. He was a lifelong Marbleheader, who was educated in the Marblehead public school systems.

Joe also known as "Skip" by childhood friends served as a Marblehead police officer for over 30 years. Upon his retirement Joe worked part-time for the Marblehead harbormaster. An avid golfer who played in Scotland, England, and South Carolina etc. with his golf buddies, he was also a member of the Gerry 5 and Masons and was a marine reservist in his younger years. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Mary Marlene,whom he was married to for 63 years and predeceased him.

Joe is survived by his son, Joseph E Homan III and his daughter, Lisa Potorski and his grandsons Michael J Potorski and Jake A Potorski. He is also survived by his many nephews and cousins.

Services will be held at The Gerry 5 in Marblehead, 210 Beacon Street, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Care Dimensions in Danvers.
