Fremont - Jonathan Lamson, left us peacefully on July 4th, 2026, closing the book on a life well-lived and a battle bravely fought. He rests in the arms of angels free from illness and pain waiting for the day we are together once again.

Anyone who knew Jonathan knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. Jonathan was predeceased by his son, Jonathan Charles Lamson.

He was the son of the late Lawrence Lamson and Dorothy Marie (Montgomery) Lamson.

Jonathan is survived by his beloved wife Ann Marie(Benson) Lamson; his daughter, Jennifer Lamson and her fiancee William Johnston of Greeneville, TN; two sons, Brandon Lamson and his husband Steve of Newburyport, MA and Scott Lamson and his wife Alison of Londonderry, NH. Two stepchildren, Erik Benson of Epping, NH and Juliann Dupuis, along with her husband John Dupuis of Reisterstown, MD. He was a devoted grandfather to Cam Lamson, Sarah Joe, Jameson Dupuis, Charlotte Dupuis.

Jonathan graduated from Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School in 1965. Attended North Shore Community College, before being drafted into the U.S. Army 1967-1969.

Jonathan was a volunteer firefighter for Hamilton Fire Department from 1969-1984

Upon returning home from the military in 1969, he started working for the family business, Welch & Lamson oil company in South Hamilton, MA. for over 50 years, where he worked and loved what he did. He semi-retired on July 30, 2025 and sold the family business to another wonderful family, Ashley Fuels, who have the same family values as Jonathan did. He worked for them after the sale until his passing. He loved working and appreciated his wonderful loyal customers. Much appreciated Paul and Kim Ashley for the opportunity to continue working for them.

Jonathan loved and looked forward to Thursday luncheons with his life long classmates.

Jonathan's passion was working on and refurbishing his 1924 Seagrave Suburbanite Fire truck, which took three years to complete. When he finished it, he and his son Brandon enjoyed doing parades and won numerous awards over the years.

In October 2025, Jonathan donated his 1924 Seagrave Suburbanite Fire truck to FWD Seagrave Museum in Clintonville, Wisconsin. Part of his bucket list is to go see the FWD Seagrave Museum in Clintonville with his whole family to be there for the dedication. Not only did the whole family get to see the dedication, they all got to tour the Seagrave factory and were told of its history by Daryl Schroeder and Terry Lorge and shown how the fire trucks were assembled and manufactured. Jonathan enjoyed this time so much and is very appreciative of all the history of Seagrave - Jonathan was a big history person. They all got to see him enjoy this special time and see the excitement on his face. Thoroughly a time enjoyed by all.

Jonathan will be remembered for his strong will, generous heart, and unwavering devotion to his family, his work, and his community.

His funeral service will be held at Campbell Funeral Home, 6 High St., Ipswich, MA, on Saturday, July 11, at 12:30 PM. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow at Hamilton Cemetery in Hamilton, MA.
