Ipswich - Joanne E. (Rodzen) Ruzanski, 67, a lifelong Ipswich resident, died Thursday, September 23, 2021 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following her lengthy illness.

Joanne was born in Ipswich on September 27, 1953 and was the daughter of the late Frederick J. and Alma C. (Poirier) Rodzen. She was 1971 graduate of St. Joseph High School in Salem and went on to attend Melrose-Wakefield Hospital School of Nursing graduating in 1974 as a registered nurse. Most of her professional career of over thirty years was as an RN at Union Hospital in Lynn.

Joanne will fondly be remembered for her love of her family. She enjoyed the holidays, cookouts and, as an avid sports fan, following of the Red Sox and New England Patriots.

She is survived by three daughters, Sharon L. Ruzanski of Concord, NH, Carolyn M. Ruzanski and her finance, Jon Kindler of Ipswich, Kate Sanders and her husband Adam of Oxford; three sisters, Cynthia Rodzen of Ipswich, Marie Perry and her husband Michael of North Berwick, ME, Carol Smith and her husband Bryan of North Port, FL; a stepbrother, Mark Caren and his wife Monica of VA; a stepsister, Betsy Wadington and her husband David Smith of VA; and six nephews and nieces. She was the stepsister of the late Stephen Caren formerly of GA.

Her funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 28 in the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich. Family and friends wearing facial masks will be cordially welcomed. Visiting hours are Monday 4 to 7 pm. A service graveside will be held 10 a.m. Friday, October 1 in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Town Farm Road, Ipswich.
