Peabody - Joan E. (Delford) Murphy, age 79, of Peabody, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 29, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas P. Murphy.

Born and raised in Lynn, Joan was the daughter of the late Eugene and Lorraine (Gendreau) Delford. She graduated from Lynn English High School with the Class of 1964 and made Peabody her home beginning in 1987.

For more than 40 years, Joan worked as a waitress at the Lido Café in Lynn, where she was admired for her dedication and kindness. She was an avid reader, enjoyed shopping, and attending the theater. Most of all, she cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren, family, and friends.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Brian Healey of Peabody; her grandsons, Benjamin Healey and Nicholas Healey; her sister, Linda Ryan-Clancy of Peabody; and her nephew, Daniel Ryan of Lynn. Joan was predeceased by her son, Thomas P. Murphy, Jr., and her brothers-in-law, Robert Murphy, Terry Murphy and Edward "Chip" Clancy.
