Peabody - Peabody - Joan Boutchia, beloved matriarch of our family, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 4th at the age of 88.

Born on February 3, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Marie (Kenney) Hanvey.

Joan was a devout Catholic and proud military wife who lived a life rooted in faith, family, and strength. She traveled to Germany three times with her husband and six kids, creating cherished memories along the way. Known for her love of bingo, her unwavering presence, and her deep dedication to her family, she was a joyful, steady light in many lives.

Surviving her are four daughters, Denise Gatta and her husband, Ricky of Revere, Debra Bradley and her fiancé, Dave Vigue of Maine, Diane M. Passanisi and her husband, Mauro of Peabody and Darleen Boutchia Rogers of Maine, two sons, William Boutchia and his wife, Annamarie of New Jersey and Warren Boutchia of Florida, eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and several nieces. She was also the sister of the late Edward Hanvey and Robert Hanvey.

Visiting hours will be held at the Conway Cahill Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Thursday morning, June 12, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Church, 17 Chestnut St., Peabody at 12:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
