Boston, MA - Jessica Ingram, 36, of Boston, formerly of Gloucester and Ipswich, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the Care Dimensions Hospice House, Lincoln.

Born in Beverly on August 21, 1981, she was the daughter of Paul and Susan (Hooper) Ingram of Gloucester.

Jessica was a Class of 2000 graduate of Ipswich High School. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in 2004 from Haverford College, Pennsylvania and attended Oxford University in her Junior year. Jessica completed her graduate work at the University of California San Francisco, earning her Doctoral Degree in Biochemistry. She later performed postdoctoral work at the Whitehead Institute (MIT) and made discoveries in immuno-oncology as an Instructor in the Dana Farber Cancer Institute’s Department of Immunology. Jessica was an outstanding writer and a highly accomplished biochemist. She also loved to travel the world, and had made it a goal to visit every continent. Like a true North Shore native, she loved the ocean and valued the beauty in her own backyard.

In addition to her parents Paul and Susan, she is survived by her sisters, Emma Ingram, Laura Ingram, Laura’s daughter Giselle Ingram Ferreira; and her companion Hidde Ploegh.

Her visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, April 24th from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester.

A memorial service to celebrate her life, friendships and accomplishments will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jessica’s name to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute to establish a lecture in her honor, or to Doctors Without Borders, P.O. Box 5030, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5030
