Ipswich - Ipswich - Jeanne (Lampropoulos) Soffron, Age 78, of Ipswich, MA died on Tuesday, October 31st, 2023. Jeanne passed away peacefully at the Kaplan Hospice House with her 3 boys by her side after succumbing to a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Ipswich on July 30, 1945 she was the daughter of the late James and Sylvia (Argeropoulos) Lampropoulos.

She is survived by three sons, David Soffron and his wife, Judy of Topsfield, Charles Soffron of Ipswich and Michael Soffron and his wife Janine of Weare, NH.Jeanne was Yia Yia to six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by 5 younger brothers, Peter, Steve, Tommy, Harry and Johnny Lampropoulos and a younger sister Sally Balog.

The oldest sibling of 7, Jeanne was a caretaker from the beginning and the matriarch of the Lampropoulos family that lost their parents too soon. In her mid-forties, a time when many struggle to find their place in the world, Jeanne found her true calling. A nursing degree would soon follow and a career as a home hospice caregiver in her beloved town of Ipswich.

A little light gambling at the casino slots was always fun for Jeanne, but she really hit the jackpot when she moved into Cable Gardens and discovered an entire retirement community of people to care for.

A funeral service will be held Saturday November 11th at 10 a.m. at the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 8 Lafayette Road, Ipswich, where Jeanne was a lifelong member and servant. Burial will follow in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, 29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich. Visiting hours for Jeanne will be Friday, November 10th from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Morris Funeral Home, 45 North Main Street, Ipswich. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
