Jeanette MacLean Obituary

Beverly - Beverly - Jeanette Alice MacLean, 93 of Beverly, passed away after a short illness on March 16th in her sleep while in a rehab-assisted living. Jeanette had a long, successful and fulfilling career as an elementary teacher in Danvers.

She was a compassionate advocate of animals. She loved watching the elephants pictured on YouTube.

Jeanette graduated from East Boston High School and entered Salem State College where she earned a bachelor's degree and later, a master's degree in education.

She enjoyed traveling in her earlier days visiting Europe twice with friends and family. She also traveled cross-country with friends in her youth, Boston to San Francisco to see the hippies there. In later years she enjoyed meeting friends for brunch, playing bingo and visiting Foxwoods. She also enjoyed a cruise to the Caribbean.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Joan Chapman, her brother, Edward John MacLean, her nephew, Douglas Chapman, her niece Renee MacLean and many first cousins in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and British Columbia, Canada. She is and will be missed by all.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 27th at 1pm at North Beverly Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Arrangements by the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly. Information, directions, condolences at www.campbellfuneral.com
