Essex - Jane Susan Andrews, 80, of Essex passed away at home on May 26, 2026.

Born in Fitchburg, she was the daughter of the late John and Anne (Eskola) Xarras.

Jane was predeceased by her husband, George, with whom she shared 55 years of loving marriage.

Jane graduated from Children's Hospital School of Nursing in Boston and spent her life caring for others. As a RN she practiced nursing as a hospital floor nurse, school nurse, and private care nurse. She dedicated her life to nurturing others with patience, kindness, and compassion. This ability to show care and comfort extended into her relationships with her friends and family who frequently turned to her for "Nurse Jane" advice.

Jane's proudest accomplishment was being a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother. She created a home where she selflessly devoted herself to her family and loved unconditionally. She has gifted her family with countless memories filled with love, laughter, and joy. Jane is survived by her son Jon Andrews of Essex, MA; son Jeff Andrews and his spouse Joanna of Winston-Salem, NC; daughter Jennifer Cort and her spouse Jonathan of Essex, MA; and grandchildren Emily, Ryan, Will, Gray, Jane, Josh, Drew, and Sarah. Jane also leaves behind her sister, Lynne Kelleher, of Danvers.
