Ipswich - Mr. James Neil "Jimbo" Dolan, age 62, of Ipswich, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at his home.
Born in Newport, RI, he grew up in Swampscott, and was the beloved son of the late Retired Navy Commander William R., Jr. and Sybil ( Heffernan) Dolan.
He attended the Quaker Franklin Perkins School and the Perkins School for the Blind. He participated in day programs of the Northeast Arc. Jimbo enjoyed boating and serving as crew for his father. He was an avid Bruins fan and enjoyed attending the games. He also enjoyed whale watching and visits to the New England Aquarium. Most especially he enjoyed his housemates and staff during his years at Arc.
He was the brother of Marie E. Dolan of Binghamton, NY, Kathleen Dolan-Valdes of Miami, FL, Marjorie Dolan of Melbourne, FL, and of the late William Robert "Robby" Dolan, III. He also leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn, a wheelchair accessible facility, on Monday, April 29, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 PM. Burial in Arlington National Cemetery, next to his parents, will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Northeast Arc, 1 Southside Road, Danvers, MA 01923.
