Salem - Salem - James T Delaney Jr. passed away on Monday September 22, at the age of 84. He was born in Boston MA and was the son of Genevieve and James T Delaney.

He was one of 6 children, of whom Louise, Barbara, Stephen and Peter have preceded him in death. His sister Jacklyn is the only remaining living sibling.

He served in the Armed Forces, Air Force, from 1960 until 1964. He was a Captain in charge of the truck enforcement unit of the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles and became a Massachusetts State Trooper when they merged with the rank of lieutenant. He loved reading and watching anything historical.

He leaves behind his wife of twenty years, Nina, Coco his beloved dog and two sons, James P Delaney of Methuen and Matthew C Delaney of San Francisco and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10AM on Wednesday October 1st at St. John the Evangelist Church in Swampscott with visitation prior to the mass at 9 am. Burial will be in Swampscott Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to vetscount.org.
