James D. Downey, of Billerica formerly of Woburn, passed away Saturday, May 28.
The son of the late James F. and Eileen (Wheeler) Downey, he was 69 years old.
James was a hard working man who enjoyed his lifelong career as a truck driver. James was an avid Boston sports fan and enjoyed fishing as well as playing the lottery.
He was a beloved husband of Diane (Migliacci)Downey; loving father of Renee Joy and Lisa Downey of Billerica, Nichole Downey of Woburn and Stacy Nelson of Methuen; cherished brother of Patricia Currie her husband, John of Florida, Kathleen Paone her husband, Robert of Andover, Karen Domenici her husband, Raymond of Woburn Proud Papa of Christina and Katelyn Joy and Zaria and Jason Nelson great-grandpapa of Alexis and Brayden. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was the their rock.
