Danvers - James Emmet Cronin, age 75, of Danvers, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023 after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Jean (Frid) Cronin with whom he shared 38 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Lynn, Jim was the son of the late Robert and Mary (Dolan) Cronin. He was the devoted father of Sean Cronin of Ipswich, Steven Cronin and his wife Jennifer of Derry NH, Jennifer Aylwin and her husband, Peter of Topsfield, Deborah Lennon and her husband, Patrick of Westfield, and Jamie Cronin and his wife, Jessica of Danvers; the cherished grandfather of Alexis Johnson, Elijah Cronin, Noah Cronin, Sarah Cronin and Louis Lennon; great-grandfather of Olivia Johnson, the dear brother of Robert Cronin and his wife, Carol of Salem, Richard Cronin and his wife Mary of Danbury CT, Michael Cronin and his wife, Patricia of Rio Verde AZ, Dennis Cronin and his wife Carol of Swampscott, and Mary Frasca and her husband Fred of Salem. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by all. Jim grew up in Lynn, graduated from Saint Mary's High School with the class of 1965. He was an honorably discharged veteran who proudly served his country as a member of the United State Army during the Vietnam war era. He worked for several years in the maintenance dept of Richdale Dairy Stores/West Lynn Creamery. After he was self-employed as a carpenter until his retirement. He cherished his time spent with family. Jim enjoyed playing golf, cribbage, and vacationing in the mountains of New Hampshire.

Family and friends are invited to Jim's Visitation on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. His burial will take place on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 10 a.m. in the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 185 Lake Street, Peabody, please meet at the main gate.
