Ipswich - Dr. Harlow F. LaBarge, 73 of Ipswich, passed away on Friday June 26th. Born in Chicago, IL, he was the son the late Harlow and Dolores (Nowikowski) LaBarge.

Dr. LaBarge graduated from Loras College with a Bachelor of Science before attending Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. He completed his residency in family medicine at Tufts University in Boston. He began his medical career as an emergency room physician in Chicago before discovering his true calling in family medicine, where he cared for individuals and families in Manchester-by-the-Sea for many years. Throughout his career, he held teaching and leadership positions at Tufts University School of Medicine and was honored with the designation of Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Outside of medicine, he was adventurous and enthusiastic. He loved scuba diving, traveling to new places, collecting fine wines, spending time on the golf course, and playing the guitar. He especially cherished visits to the farm and the beach with his granddaughter, Jade, and spending time with his family.

Harlow is survived by one son, Matthew LaBarge and his wife, Ariel of Malden; two daughters, Rachel LaBarge of Peabody, Paige LaBarge of Nashville, TN; three sisters, Margot Sabato of Michigan, Renee Eifert of Illinois, Emery LaBarge of Arizona; one granddaughter, Jade Thompson of Peabody; many nieces and nephews.

His visiting hours will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich on Thursday July 9th from 3pm to 6pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
