Gerald A. Clark Obituary

Danvers - Gerald A. Clark, 81, of Danvers, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at home. He was the beloved husband of Beatrix M. (Gesek) Clark, with whom he shared 58 years of cherished marriage.

Son of the late Winston and Marjorie (Calder) Clark, he was born in Salem on July 11, 1943. After graduating from Salem High School, he embarked on a successful career in electronics, serving as a Telecom Manager for the U.S. Department of Defense. He then started Telephony Northeast, which led to the founding of Homisco, a telecommunications company, in 1981. More recently, he was a member of the Danvers democratic committee with his wife.

Gerald had an insatiable technical curiosity and a passion for tinkering. He was a prolific inventor, holding several patents for his innovative contributions to telecommunications. His interests extended beyond electronics to include automobiles, target shooting, RC helicopters, and communication worldwide as a ham radio enthusiast. He loved to share his knowledge of the mystery of how things functioned.

As a father, Gerald instilled a deep appreciation for the natural world in his children. He shared his love for the White Mountains of NH, climbing, and skiing with his family. He led his son's Boy Scout troop on exciting nature adventures, helping them foster a respect for the environment. He was always ready to share stories about his pet crow, whom he trained as a young boy.

Gerald leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his devoted wife, Beatrix, and their three sons and their wives: James and Diane Clark of Georgia, Peter and Irina Clark of Ipswich, and Michael and Lauren Clark of West Newbury. He was a proud grandfather to four beloved grandchildren: Addison, Skyler, Eva, and Emmy. Numerous nieces and nephews will deeply miss him. Gerald was predeceased by his dear sister, Marilyn McKinnon.
