Epping - Frederick D. Hunt "Fred", age 87, passed away on November 1, 2022, at the Colonial Poplin Nursing Home in Fremont, NH after a period of declining health. He was born November 23, 1934, in Peabody, MA, son of the late Edward F. Hunt and Hanora (Dunne) Hunt.

Fred grew up in Peabody, MA and was one of three children in his family. He graduated from Peabody High School and as a teenager worked caddying at the Salem Country Club. He served for 13 years in the United States Naval Reserve. In 1954, he married the love of his life, Mary Alice Dumas. They were longtime residents of Peabody raising their family until moving to Epping, NH in 1975. Fred worked at Almys in Boston and Methuen for 35 years working his way up from a stock boy to a Manager/Buyer. He later worked for 17 years at the Lamprey River Elementary School in Raymond.

Fred was a life member of the Salem Elks Lodge. He was passionate about sports and he was very involved with the Epping Little League Baseball years ago. Fred enjoyed watching his professional Boston sporting teams competing every year. He was an avid coin collector and was a good handyman that could fix just about anything. His beverage of choice while socializing was Miller Lite.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary Alice Hunt, his son, Frederick D. Hunt Jr., and his brother, James Hunt.

He is survived by son, James Hunt of Seattle, WA, daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Ronald Sinclair of Candia, NH, daughter and son-in-law, Lee Ann and John Hinds of Clarksville, TN, son and daughter-in-law, John and Kim Hunt of Nottingham, NH, son and daughter-in-law, David and Dawn Hunt of Barrington, NH, daughter-in-law Monica Labrie of Somersworth, NH, 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, a sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Jay Dunn and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant St., Epping, NH.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 7, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Church, 200 Pleasant St., Epping, NH

Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Salem, MA at a later date.
